After the pretty long and very delightful trip finally we arrived Riga. And from the first glance it became almoust obvious that every festival stop seems to be completly different than the others. Every country, town and partner organisation changes the image of MBS on its tour.

In Riga we have experiend the other side of festival. As soon as Lovis reached it destination point we noticed that our harbour Aldasala is a really special place. Postindustrial area, full of graffity suggested interesting activity, but remained calm and empty till the evening, when the young people started to gather in this unusual place. The spot, where everybody can come to feel the freedom of partying on the street on your own way and style with and with use of any kind of equipment you can get. And we did the same. The loudspeakers put on the pavement, barbecue in the wheelbarrow and the fridge made from supermarket trolley were the best solution to keep the party going till the morning with the comnpany of arists living in the artist colony in Aldasala harbour. Colony showed that in Riga lives strong community of young people who organise their own culture and they will be the main visitors of MBS.

The next day just confirmed this supossition. We visited at first really modern area called „Noass“ gallery, where the panel discussion took place. With the connection of the Akmens bridge we reached than „Space dog“ to check, how the 48. h film contest goes on. And this point of the evening showed, how well the artist community works in Riga. The high number of participants, complicated rules and live video streaming from the camera, where contest take place showed that Latvian MBS deals with the people, who are really into films and… in partys as well. Because the evening ended one more time in similar artistic party place arrange in an old historic warehouse organised by the independent community. As far we got with MBS to really dynamic and energetic Latvian youth. Exhausted by partying I´ll just have a break and let my friends to write aobut next experiences in Riga. See you.
